Is it too cliche, as an artist, that my favorite season is autumn? There is so much beauty in the death that precedes new life. And just like a tree needing to let go of its leaves, sometimes it is with things in life….and trusting that the new season will bring growth and fruit from what came before.
Here’s a sneak preview of the lyrics to my new song titled “Don’t Run.” It may or may not have to do with the previous paragraph….come to the next show and i’ll let you know.
Youtube clip of a live studio performance coming soon.
Don’t Run ©Neah Lee 2010
It’s not easy for any man, any man to see
He is weak like every man, every man you see
so we go on and on and on and on
believing this lie
how much are we willing to go
until it all dies
shades are down in midafternoon
open deep then pour out your fears
the dark keeps on cheating you
while silence stands idly by
Oh…..what are we gonna do
i’m just as weak
if not more
so all i’m asking of you (2x)
Don’t Run, don’t run away
Won’t try to fix today
Just need you to stay
Don’t run, don’t run away
too much space to think and feel
skin on skin too close too real
push the hands, that are reaching in
brick by brick by brick its up again
brick by brick by brick its up again
i’m just as weak
if not more
so all i’m asking of you (2x)
Don’t Run, don’t run away
Won’t try to fix today
Just need you to stay
Don’t run, don’t run away
